I've been working in cybersec for nearly 30 years. I research why security isn't adequate enough and why people and decision-makers don't understand it. I also study the human and technological future of this and AI's impact. I founded the ITBN event and recently became a producer of American sci-fi (Sight Extended), as I love sci-fi and video games. You can also reach out to me to learn about dessert teas (e.g., Thai tea - which I'm drinking right now) and all things Asia. “Édesmindegy”, the dessert bar in downtown Budapest, is our family business.

My name is Zoltán, and I joined the Byborg AI team in 2024 as a Project Manager. I graduated from Budapest Corvinus University in 2007, specializing in natural language processing. I am also the author of Together: AI and Human, a book exploring the economic implications of artificial intelligence.

Ever since then, I have been particularly interested in NLP and generative models within visual domains. Recently, the focus of my work has been tuning, optimizing and deploying image generation models to tackle specific, real-world challenges.

I have been dealing with Machine Learning for more than 9 years now and joined the company 4.5 years ago. I originally started my career and both of my diploma theses in Computer Vision, but over the years I have ventured into many other areas such as NLP, audio, recommender systems, and more. My most recent projects have been related to semantic search, scene analysis, and LLMs. Sometimes I may seem like the pessimist of the team, but I thrive the most while thinking about possible issues and investigating well-hidden bugs.

By training, I’m an economist, and throughout my career, I’ve developed a deep background in predictive modeling, time series forecasting, and tabular data analysis. In recent years, I’ve shifted my focus to cutting-edge fields like computer vision and generative AI. I'm driven to stay on the edge of ML research with practical applications, exploring the intersection of these technologies to drive innovation and solve real-world problems.
